I am an artist/maker working on large scale wall hangings/tapestries and sculptural forms. I work from my studio in East Sussex using natural unspun fibres, predominately british wool, unspun silk and flax My work is inspired by natural forms, cellular microscopic structures, fragmentation, and colour. I use the ancient nomadic technique of wet felting, where the loose fibres are gradually bound together by water and agitation, and often incorporate 3D shapes to play with light and shadow.

Elizabeth Clayman grew up in South Carolina in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, spending her summers on Cape Cod.
