Suspended Glow Panels

Anna Glasbrook created these suspended glow panels for the Lewes residence in Brighton, England. Located in the entrance atrium of this stunningly renovated home, the brief was to create a wow factor and visual interest from outside as well as from several levels inside the house.

The glow panels were fabricated from a live-edge translucent material that picks up the light on its surface, creating a glow from the stitch holes and edges as if it were internally lit. Using neon ribbon in vibrant contrasting color, the panel is loosely stitched in loops to create flowing rhythmical lines across the surface. Criss-crossing branches of hazel coppice reflected on a shed window inspired the abstract designs.

Born in London, Glasbrook is the daughter of a Danish tapestry weaver, and is heavily influenced by Scandinavian and Japanese aesthetics.
