At the Acute Care wing of the SF General Hospital in the Mission District, one can find Adam McCauley's Stavros Beach. It is a large watercolor painting that was printed onto a metal panel. This piece gives a refreshing feeling to its viewers.

Meet the Creator

Adam McCauley (b. 1965) is a San Francisco based illustrator, artist and arts educator who has been creating illustrations for clients nationally and worldwide since 1988 for editorial, publishing, institutional and advertising based clients. He's illustrated many book covers as well as 23 children's books, including his most recent, Are We There Yet?, and The Monsterologist, by Bobbi Katz, for which he won the Society of Illustrators Gold Medal. Adam's personal sketchbook work has been featured in American Illustration, Print Magazine and An Illustrated Life, by Danny Gregory.

Adam's animation, Fast Food, is in the permanent new media collection of SFMOMA. He is currently also an Associate Professor at California College of the Arts in San Francisco, where he teaches Thesis, Illustration Core, Color Theory and Professional Practice classes.”
