The Slow Restaurant. The Slow is a 12-room boutique hotel set on the coast of Canggu, Bali. The bar and restaurant are located at the entrance area and served as the lobby of the hotel. The interior concept is in line with the architecture, using raw and minimal material palette such as timber, concrete and painted plaster wall. The grid module timber ceiling and wall create a strong shadow pattern that becomes the character of the space which is complemented by the lush landscape. The space is also functioned as an extended gallery in which artworks are carefully curated by the client, George Gorrow.

Rafael Miranti Architects is a young architecture studio based in Jakarta. It was established in 2014 by Rafael Arsono & Margareta Miranti, who had previously trained as architects at one of the reputable firms in Jakarta, Han Awal & Partners Architects. As assistant architects under the mentorship of father and son Han Awal and Yori Antar, Rafael and Miranti completed mostly private residential projects.
Rafael Miranti Architects believes in the clarity of ideas executed with rigorous planning and design in order to make good architecture. This attitude is adopted for each project with respect to the specific context, site and the client’s needs. Each project is thoughtfully developed with a strong emphasis on material study and exploration of local workmanship, always bearing in mind an approach that is suitable for each idea. Working within the tropical context and dynamic urban conditions such as in Jakarta, they constantly seek a single broad gesture that embodies complex programmes while allowing the architecture and users to interact with the local climate.
Rafael Miranti Architects aims to have a wide range of work at a variety of scales. Both Rafael and Miranti are closely involved in the development of all projects, always with one of the partners leading the project. The practice currently operates in BSD City, the western suburban area of Jakarta.
