Ar Penthouse Project - Architecture

This apartment located in the center of Rome has been completely changed both in terms of internal distribution and style. It would be very difficult today to recognize it if compared to the aspect it had before the intervention. The first criterion that guided the project was to open the space outwards and towards natural light. The old distribution corridor has thus disappeared and three glazed French doors have been created in the wall that separates the living area from the large terrace. The original structure of the building has been enhanced through the restoration of the wooden coffered ceilings. A sober sage green, alternated with gold and silver details, was chosen to illuminate the precious decorations. In the living area (where the false ceiling was not of value) the existing double height was brought to light, thus creating a study space framed by the restored original wooden beams. The kitchen was designed by the architect, so as to be open towards the dining room and the terrace. On the floor under the island, the oak parquet gives way to an inlay made up of old tiles, recovered and adapted to the dimensions of the new spaces. The sleeping area consists of two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master bedroom shares the ceiling with the bathroom behind it, from which it is separated through a wall that does not touch the decorations and by an iron and glass frame. This solution allowed us to leave the perception of the ceiling intact and to allow natural light to flow freely from one room to another. The terrace, which enjoys a beautiful view over the city, is furnished with a kitchen (made to Carola Vannini's design), a comfortable dining room and a large living space. The warm colors of the materials and the numerous black details are the common thread of the entire project. From this combination comes a warm, comfortable, but also the modern environment. Nothing in this project has been left to chance because we firmly believe that the details really make the difference.

Our architecture firm develops housing and commercial space designs through life and work experiences that bring together different cultures and backgrounds. The firm’s activity is mainly focused on residential architecture, but applies to all types of projects: from smaller residential and renovation works up to larger commercial and new-construction projects.
The work developed in New York around the year 2000, mixed together with a classical Italian cultural background, is giving life to a design that respects peculiar traditions and is open to new and innovative solutions.
This concept brought fresh challenges and sensations to the study of living spaces and a new crossroads where new and old meet.
The research we have done on residential and commercial spaces has enabled us to realize and materialize different concepts of living based on our clients’ various needs and mentalities.
From thought to concept to realized space, we work with our clients to ensure that their vision becomes reality through architecture and design.
