Superkhana International is designed by Charlie Vinz of Adaptive Operations. Drawing inspiration from early Indian textiles, a plethora of patterns, such as chintz modified with plant-based dyes, and a vibrant palette of magenta, purple and gold are juxtaposed with a neutral backdrop of raw material surfaces of concrete flooring, plywood ceilings, and lime-washed brick walls. Surrounded by 70 seats, including bar and table seating and private dining room, an open-air Haveli-style courtyard is the focal point of the restaurant’s interior. Reminiscent of its bright cuisine, a large fabric mural by artist Kaveri Raina and copious greenery are surprising and joyful accents that run throughout the modern, yet warm, handcrafted interior.
