Saltwater is a Marin County restaurant and oyster depot that features the rustic seafood fare of Chef Meave McAuliffe.
Located on Tamales Bay, in the town of Inverness, Saltwater welcomes local foragers, farmers, visitors and neighbors to partake in festive celebrations that honor the efforts of those who grow and gather our food.
The restaurant, which was crowdsource financed, also trains at-risk youth to work in the oyster industry, working with the nearby Pickleweed Point Community Shellfish Farm.
The space, formerly a pizza restaurant, is filled with natural light and painted in natural gray, white and mustard yellow tones. Skylights and built-in wall shelving for storage and wine display bring the room to life. Raw, simple beveled-edge countertops by Concreteworks in Oakland complete this inviting community look.
