The Gramercy Park Hotel is a modern take on the traditional grand New York hotel, with its custom-designed, handcrafted furnishings and a rotating collection of 20th-century artwork reported to be worth $50 million that includes masterpieces from Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Damien Hirst. The Gramercy Park is not only considered one of the world's best art hotels but its interior is also an actual work of art, designed exclusively by renown artist Julian Schnabel.
Schnabel chose a Renaissance-revival style for his 2006 remake, using a lush, undiluted color palette for every wall, curtain and carpet in the hotel.
