Gramercy Park Hotel

New York, NY

Hotels
2 Lexington Ave, New York 10010, NY
The Gramercy Park Hotel is a modern take on the traditional grand New York hotel, with its custom-designed, handcrafted furnishings and a rotating collection of 20th-century artwork reported to be worth $50 million that includes masterpieces from Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Damien Hirst. The Gramercy Park is not only considered one of the world's best art hotels but its interior is also an actual work of art, designed exclusively by renown artist Julian Schnabel.

Schnabel chose a Renaissance-revival style for his 2006 remake, using a lush, undiluted color palette for every wall, curtain and carpet in the hotel. No detail was too small for the artist's consideration. Bronze door handles, curtain rods and finials were all forged by Schnabel himself, with some pieces even retaining his fingerprints. Contemporary custom furnishings are complemented by a carefully curated collection of antiques and rare items—like the handcrafted Moroccan tiles and Italian fireplaces—imported from markets all over the world.

Whether dining at Danny Meyer's acclaimed Italian eatery Maialino or enjoying specialty cocktails and cool DJs under the soaring ceilings of the exclusive Rose Bar, Gramercy Park Hotel delivers an exceptional guest experience. The 190 guest rooms and suites each feature custom-made furniture, a rare collection of art, photographs and objects as well as luxury amenities like imported Italian linens and luxurious beauty products.

And with a Rooftop Terrace providing stunning views and a key to Gramercy Park—Manhattan's only private park—Gramercy Park Hotel guests have access to the very best of New York City.
