How does the design of your space (or an element of the design) impact the experiences people have there?
"We have two main areas of impact. First is our lighting ring, a custom designed and fabricated to emulate the radiating sun – the sun was the center of the ancient cultural mythologies – life-giving force. Jutting out from the ring is a series of string lights that create a visual impact that can be seen, day or night, even as you drive past on busy Broadway.The second area of impact is our murals, which the artist created to tell the story or Maize and maguey – and how these elements wove culture and community through growing, harvesting, and consuming. Taking up the majority of the North wall, these works of art feature bright colors and depictions of the spirituality and cultures of Pre-Columbian America, a perfect reflection of the drinks we serve."

What is the interior design style of your space?
"The closest term might be earthy-industrial. The design is about conveying the purpose of Dos Luces - to create a place that imagines “what if” pre-Columbian cultures had been left to develop without colonial influence."
