Souvla (Hayes Valley)

San Francisco, CA

Restaurants
517 Hayes St, San Francisco 94102, CA
Souvla is a fast-casual Greek restaurant with locations in San Francisco’s Hayes Valley and NoPa neighborhoods modeled on the traditional souvlaki joints found throughout Greece that serve great spit-roasted meats

Souvla rotisserie roast naturally-raised meats and wrap them in warm, fluffy pita bread with seasonal salads and Greek yogurt sauces. (The word “souvla” means “spit” or “skewer” in Greek—the rod on which meat is roasted.) Souvla's Greek fries have made a whole lot of “best fry” lists. Their selection of retsina, a Greek white wine with a pine-resin finish, is exceptional. Don’t miss out on their frozen Greek yogurt served in the classic “NY Cup.”

Owner Charles Bililies opened the first Souvla in Hayes Valley, in April, 2014, and the second in the NoPa neighborhood, in June, 2016. Souvla's third San Francisco location will be open in early 2017 in San Francisco's vibrant Mission District.
