Hôtel Americano

New York, NY

Hotels
518 W 27th St, New York 10001, NY
Located in Chelsea's art gallery district, a few blocks from the High Line, the just opened Hôtel Americano has been transformed by Mexico City-based architect Enrique Norton—the first recipient of the Mies van der Rohe Award for Latin American Architecture—into a ten-story hotel for Mexico-based Groupo Habita.

The work of Paris-based interior designer Arnaud Montigny, rooms at Hôtel Americano evoke the feel of an urban ryokan with wooden platform beds, natural sunlight and warm lighting playing off dark tones and smooth concrete, with plenty of natural materials and pops of color.

Montigny also orchestrated the interiors in the cutting-edge dining room, The Americano, which serves up French fare with Latin flair and has an outdoor garden patio. The hotel also has bikes available to guests for exploring the High Line and nearby Hudson River Park.
