Civil Coffee was founded in 2012 by Alan and Alex Morales as an espresso pop-up catering experience servicing the Los Angeles area. Under the banner of Civil Coffee, the home grown Angeleno brother duo served liquid gold at all sorts of events and festivities, from intimate weddings to full on festivals like Coachella. Through the years, the goal was to eventually open a brick and mortar where their ideas could be fully realized
In November of 2015, Civil Coffee opened its doors in the historic and colorful Los Angeles neighborhood of Highland Park. This is where great coffee from various roasters is purveyed in the form of espresso and filter brews though single origin offerings. A delightful breakfast and lunch menu, made in collaboration with roomforty, is also available to pair with the coffee. The overall intention was to design an experience that was friendly and approachable, serving the neighborhood as a watering hole and community space.
You can still be pleasantly surprised to find Civil popping up around town at various events, but its in Highland Park where every day is a good day to be civil.
