Simon Zablotsky has an engineering background and worked with a broad range of metals and composite materials. He decided to pursue his passion for art and design by creating sculptural metal works incorporating various timber elements.
His passion and desire to work with timber and to design furniture led him to study Fine Furniture Design and Making at the University of Tasmania.
He then taught at the Australian School of Fine Furniture and he was invited to design and make the Federal Court Suite for the Queens Square Law Courts in Sydney, which brought him back to mainland Australia.
Simon’s passion is to produce contemporary fine timber furnishing of the highest standard, with a focus on conservative use of Australian timbers procured from sustainable resources where possible.
