“Marina Perez-Wong & Elaine Chu of Twin Walls Mural Company
Marina Perez-Wong a.k.a. Micho P. Wong is based in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Born and raised in San Francisco's Mission District, she was influenced by the muralists, craft makers and social activist that lived in the neighborhood. After completing her Bachelors of Arts degree at the California College of Art & Crafts, she began her career as a public artist and art educator with a strong emphasis on street art and community. In 2013 Marina co-founded Twin Walls Mural Company along with her longtime colleague and best friend, Elaine Chu.
Elaine Chu was born and raised in San Francisco. She graduated from School of the Arts High School and went on to study painting and art history at the Maryland Institute College of Arts. During her experiences she met many artists and friends that have influenced her work today. She owes much of her development and training as a muralist to Precita Eyes Muralists where she has been a part of for over a decade. She also runs a collaborative called Twin Walls Mural Company with her best friend and fellow muralist Marina Perez- Wong.
Together they want to share their love of bright color and realism with the world while holding down a strong Asian American Women influence in the street art world.”
