"I'm obssessed with creating wonderful personalised spaces with mural painting - I love gilding, birds and motifs from nature as subjects for my paintings"
Mural painting is a wonderful way to decorate as there are no restrictions as to where you paint, ie; over the ceiling, around the window, curling around a banister, the only limit is your imagination. It is a joy to work with clients to create highly personalised and special spaces for them to live or work in. My dream is a blank wall and permission to paint on it!
I've been painting all my life, and finding ways to live a creative life. As well as painting murals, I teach art workshops and am developing my own paintings to find an audience for them. My inspiration has always been my tropical childhood in the Caribbean, an obsession with Chinoiserie and antique hand painted wallpapers, and of course gold-leaf.
Look forward to chatting with you.

Q&A

How do your pieces come to life? Tell us one interesting thing about your creative process?

"Once we have a finalised design established between the client and myself, there is a always a strange moment when they see the start of the mural and it looks very rough and you can see that they might be thinking, "Oh no, what have I done?" but then with layers of colour, details and dedication it slowly comes to life and they are delighted with the final result."

Q&A

What do you want people to do or feel when they encounter your creations?

"I love to see the reactions of clients when I see the completed mural for the first time, thankfully it has always exceeded their expectations. It's hard for people to visualise a small design translated onto a wall, and I am so grateful for their trust in me. Of course I'm always thrilled when someone buys or commissions a unique painting as it means they have fallen in love with my work and style."

Q&A

What funny moments, unexpected surprises, or obstacles have you encountered?

"The funniest thing that happens to me is when I am painting a mural for a child's bedroom and they want to 'help' me paint the wall! It takes a lot of tact to explain that only I'm allowed to paint on their walls, or ok.... you paint that tiny bit (which I then have to repair later!)"
