Nathan is an artisanal craftsman hailing from Medicine Hat, Alberta. He grew up in a log house in the woods of Northern Alberta and also spent several years of his childhood in the African sun. He has always enjoyed bringing out the beautiful in everyday materials. From his drafting table in college to his family’s home in Medicine Hat, he has been pursuing the perfect mix between functionality and aesthetic charm. His photographer wife and their three children enrich Nathan’s vision by making his life busy and beautiful.
During his career as a Red Seal carpenter, Nathan has worked in cabinet shops on Vancouver Island and Medicine Hat, but become self-employed in 2017 in his search for creative independence. He is happiest when he can oversee the entire process - from designing a piece and selecting the perfect wood to build it, to the final installation in its place at its home. Nathan is proud of the artistic trust placed in him by clients. “That says to me that they trust me as a designer as well as a maker.”
