Sarah Boese is an Adelaide based mural artist and illustrator, born in 1992, South Australia. Since graduating from the University of South Australia in 2013 with a Bachelor Degree in Visual Communication, she has been freelancing as a digital illustrator. In 2016 she began to expand her practice into the world of street artist and public murals, primarily painting with aerosol spray paint for these larger scale works.
Sarah is often teaching art and working with schools and alternative learning programs to deliver creative workshops, as well as working on projects with a focus on community engagement.
With a keen interest in children’s picture books, Sarah has also illustrated two books published by Scholastic Australia, and a third to be released in 2019, published by Raising Literacy Australia.
Sarah is a versatile artist who seeks opportunities to create unusual imagery that tells a story or shares a sentiment with her viewers. She draws inspiration from different cultures around the world, and enjoys incorporating a playful nature into her artwork. Sarah’s work is often influenced by nature, fantasy, narrative and organic forms. Her style is recognisably vibrant, bold and fluid.
