Colombian artist based in San Francisco, California. He received an MFA at the San Francisco Art Institute in 2015 and a BFA in Illustration and Animation from the European Institute of Design of Rome in 2009.
His work has been shown at Casa Cuadrada and ArteCamara at ArtBo in Bogota, as well at Adobe Books Backroom, The Growlery, California Academy of Sciences, Red Poppy Art House, Aggregate Space Gallery, Root Division and Embark Gallery in the Bay Area.
Santiago's work consists of an emotional translation of memories and states of mind into objects and installations. The research into different crafts and processes sparks a dialogue in which is difficult to understand if the material informs the memory or vice-versa. Dark humor accompanied by a bright pastel pallet are constants throughout the whole body of work.
