Rosie grew up in the cotswolds UK and gained an M.A in Art History at Edinburgh University before pursuing a career in the public relations industry. Whilst raising a family she continued her studies in life drawing and painting at Putney School of Art & Design and Heatherley School of Fine Art in Chelsea. Rosie now lives and paints from her studio in Balham, London. Rosie was elected a member of Chelsea Art Society in 2019.
In the last few years she has exhibited at numerous exhibitions in London and the home counties including The Affordable Art Fair in Battersea. The New English Art Club and The Royal Society of Oil Painters Annual Exhibitions at the Mall Galleries.
Rosie enjoys painting directly from observation either outside 'en plein air' immersed in the landscape or back in the studio working on a still life or the figure. She has developed a painterly, expressive style which she uses to capture the essence of a subject and explore her love of form, colour and light. Rosie works mainly in oils but enjoys experimenting with a variety of techniques in acrylic, watercolour, gouache, pastel and charcoal.
