This year I find that my subjects remain the same nature and beautiful curves and shapes you find everywhere as you look at this world we inhabit, but I have had to come up with some new ways of working as my body keeps reminding me Im older than I used to be. I have been developing ways of working with stainless steel rods which singly are light and easier to manipulate and polish and with the climate situation pressing down on us hard I have returned to wood for some smaller pieces instead of Bronze or resin casting neither of which are very friendly to the planet. Perhaps I will work out a way to make larger work in wood also, not today though. The pieces I have created this year have my trademark minimal approach reducing an idea down to its essence, which is usually the curve or profile which sparked the idea, does a Hummingbird need wings? Not in my mind as if you have seen one they beat so fast that the human eye cant see them anyway.
