What do you want people to do or feel when they encounter your creations?
"What is important to me in the reception of an art piece by the public is that they experience their own connection to it rather than have me dictate anything to them."

What’s unique about your work?
"I like elegant, somewhat restrained statements which emphasize the materials that I work with (clay and glaze) as well as the subtle trace of the hand without actually showing this. I hope to celebrate a certain refinement that comes from the many years i have been honing my craft."

How do your pieces come to life? Tell us one interesting thing about your creative process?
"My knowledge base of materials and techniques allow the work to appear free formed but behind these pieces there are thousands of hours of practice. I most cherish transmitting this knowledge to my staff. Teaching hand building skills is very much like a choreographer leading a dancer to perform the right movements and to develop awareness of their surroundings."
