I am Mena Williams, I've been working with the medium of clay since 1997. When I studied art and design in Pembrokeshire college.
My passion for clay started when I found that I could fully express myself through it.
Though this passion I then went on to study Fine Art Ceramic BA hons in Swansea Institute of HE.
This is where I was able to explore clay more in-depth through this I discovered that Porcelain had the best properties for the art that I wanted to create as it has a fine clay and shows fine textures when imprinted into.
My love of clay and my gorgeous Pembrokeshire Coastal surroundings have amalgamated together through many forms of experimentation over the years.
My pieces are made out of Porcelain Paper Clay as this material gives me the strength and translucency needed for impressing beach combed objects into the clay, linking into the coastal surroundings around me. i.e. shells, starfish, seaweed, and rope etc.
I now produce organic vessels of varying sizes from small tea lights to larger table lamps and wall up lighters
