Maya Erdelyi is a NYC/Boston and LA based animator, director and artist. She creates intricate hand-made animations and collages inspired by imaginary worlds, memories, and the unconscious. Shown in various national and international film festivals, galleries and museums, her award-winning animations utilize a hybrid experimental approach to cut-paper stop-motion, puppetry, hand-drawn and computer animation processes.
Maya is a 2012 MFA graduate in Experimental Animation from CalArts, and is represented by 6PointMedia, a Hollywood Animation Studio. Personal projects include a new film in the works called “Anyuka”--an abstract animated short documentary, and a children’s book about beasts.
Clients and collaborators include: Harvard Business Publishing, VICE, Intel, CDN, TV on the Radio, Michel Gondry, Aaron Rose, Levi’s, Toyota, BRIC media, and FAKE BAND COLLECTIVE among others.
