"I’m constantly attracted to the intertwining of natural and human made structures and systems, and intrigued with the visible and tangible records of life it creates. This influences my work."
Visual artist, MaryAnn Puls uses an intuitive approach while working to create abstract paintings, drawings and assemblages. Her work expresses spontaneous impulses with results that are strangely familiar, attractive and quirky all at once. Everyday visual stimuli, especially the interactions of nature and human made elements, create constant fodder and themes in her work. MaryAnn Puls lives and works in Portland, Oregon. Exhibitions include 9 solo shows, numerous juried and group shows and was awarded a Regional Arts & Culture Council grant. Recently many of her pieces, selected by Emily Henderson Design, were staged throughout a Portland/Dunthorpe remodel project.
