Mark Cairns is a contemporary realist artist who lives and works in Barwon Heads a small seaside village at the beginning of the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, Australia. His work is inspired by the ocean and the relationship between man and nature. Mark has become widely recognised for his minimalist paintings of the rivers, oceans and bays in his local area and Bayside areas of Melbourne.
Born in Geelong he began his career as a Graphic Artist and eventually developed his career as a professional artist. Mark has had many solo and group exhibitions in Melbourne and Geelong. He has won numerous awards and was a finalist in the SA Museum of Natural History Art Prize. His work is in collections in Hong Kong, Amsterdam, New York and many international cities.
He has been working as a full-time artist for over 30 years now in his studio in Barwon Heads and continues to create striking minimalist artworks which are in high demand by collectors and galleries. Commissions are welcome.
