"I love to learn the rules and then break them. Artwork inspired by the rhythms of nature, foliage, and trees."
Hey there! Before I finally called myself an artist, I was driving ships as an officer in the U.S. Navy. I thought I'd stay in for a career and paint when that was done, and then I became a mom. Holding my newborn daughter in 2016 changed everything. She helped me realize something had to give, and I knew it wasn't going to be mothering or painting. So, my first day back from maternity leave, I resigned from the Navy. The months following included some of the hardest of my life as I navigated a new identity away from the military, catastrophic flood damage from Hurricane Irma, being a new mom (pregnant again), and through all of that, painting becoming a grounding practice I just couldn't get enough of. That period taught me how to listen to my voice, depart from the "rules", and create truly unique work that resonated my soul. I haven't stopped since then and love exploring creativity any way I can. Thanks so much for stopping by, and I'm delighted to share with you my paintings!
