I graduated in South Africa in 1994 where I received the Ashley and Radmore Prize for outstanding achievement in painting. I then moved to London where I established my artistic credentials as a portraitist over the course of the following 10 years.
During that time I was invited to participate in a pilot show for the BBC 1 TV series entitled Painting Stars. I was commissioned to paint Lesley Garrett, a renowned opera singer in England.
As a result of this success, I was then invited to participate in another BBC TV series entitled, Star Portraits with Rolf Harris. Star Portraits had millions of viewers and was a huge success resulting in an exhibition that toured the UK. I painted the much loved comic, writer, and actor, Meera Syal.
I then moved to Venice, Italy where I continued to paint portraits for clients internationally.
I have undertaken numerous private commissions including for the BBC, Lesley Garrett, Meera Syal, Rollo Armstrong, Richard Dillane, and the Standard Chartered Bank. My work is included in the Standard Chartered Bank Corporate Collection, the Colby Museum in Maine's art collection, and in The New Art Gallery Walsall. My work is in the private collections of Peter and Paula Lunder, Lee and Slocum Perry, and Sir Robert Horton amongst others.
Having decided to train and ordain as a Zen Buddhist priest I came to the US in 2013. I now live in San Francisco with three very talented cats where I continue to work as a portraitist, having ordained in 2015.
