Katie Yang grew up in both Taiwan and New York City, and after getting her law degree was a corporate lawyer for many years. Six years ago, she quite practicing law, and decided to pursue her passion to create art full time. She is who she is today because of both events that happened and didn't happen, and choices made and not made. The art she create reflects her intentions in a random world.
She studied ceramics and sculpture at Anderson Ranch Arts Center, Haystack Mountain School of Crafts and at 92nd Street Y School of the Arts; drawing and encaustics at The Art Students League of New York; and metal welding and sculptures at the School of Visual Arts.
In 2014, she was a Studio Immersion Project Fellow at Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop at The Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts.
