Kara Rosenlund is a freelance Australian travel photographer with an eponymous lifestyle brand.
I work in both the freelance editorial and advertising capacities blending my skills as a photographer & stylist. My limited edition photographic prints and lifestyle range is available exclusively through my online shop.
My first hardback photographic book called Shelter – How Australians Live was published by Lantern, an imprint of Penguin Random House, in late 2015. A very special book which took me on a year long road trip through the Australian landscape, seeking out and documenting quintessentially Australian authentic interiors and landscapes.
Back at home, I live my life in a timber and tin weatherboard cottage, thriving on the casual lifestyle it offers and the joy it brings in Brisbane, Queensland.
I have photographed and styled for some of Australia’s most loved magazine titles.
Alongside this, my personal photographic work has been exhibited throughout Australia and abroad and are held in public and private collections, including most notably a solo exhibition at the Sydney Opera House.
Relocating from Sydney to London in 2007, I filled my love for interiors through prop styling, sourcing and buying throughout Europe.
Returning to my home country in 2010 I started the second chapter of my career, creating the much loved ‘Travelling Wares’ caravan traveling shop – housed in a 1956 caravan called Frankie, touring the nation selling my found utilitarian vintage pieces for the home.
I was recently named by UK interiors ‘bible’ Elle Decoration as ‘A Modern Day Martha Stewart’. I am 35 years old.
