"Fingerprint wall drawings, symmetry, and emergent self organizing systems."
I began as a realistic figure painter and now I paint with my fingers, using my body as a drawing tool. I spent the last 25 years living and working on the lower east side of Manhattan, participating in the art scene of New York City. Recently I moved back upstate to my hometown of Albany, New York. I've had many solo shows and exhibited across the US and international venues as well. Because my fingerprint drawings are done directly on the wall I have to travel to the site to execute them. In some cases the completed work gets sealed with a clear coat after for permanence, whereas for art institutions they are temporary installations. I have done commercial projects for architects, hotels, interior designers, and businesses such as Lululemon and Anthropologie. I was due to go to Munich, Germany in March, to do a project for Mazda, but it was cancelled due to the pandemic. If travel is difficult for awhile, I can produce work on wall films that can be adhered on site.
