Jessica Alazraki I was born and raised in Mexico City. I earned a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Universidad Anáhuac, a Diploma in Graphic Design from Parsons School of Design in New York City, a Certificate in Drawing & Painting from The New York Academy of Art in 2013 and a year studies of the Master’s Degree in Figurative Painting at the New York Academy of Art, New York City, 2015-2016. I have exhibited my paintings in the U.S.A. in over 40 group shows at galleries in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Long Island, Poughkeepsie, California, and Philadelphia as well as in Sotheby’s Auction House in N.Y. I have participated in various museum exhibitions, including the Attleboro Arts Museum in Massachusetts and the New Britain Museum of America Art. I presented three Solo Shows in N.Y.C. and showed my work in more than five group exhibitions in Mexico City and Puebla, Mexico. In 2020 I was awarded by the Queens Art Fund the New Work Grant recipient founded by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs. In September 2019, I completed my fellowship seminar ARTWorks Inc. at the Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning, supported by Jerome Foundation. In 2019 I was accepted into the Creative Capital N.Y.C. “El taller program,” in collaboration with Hemispheric Institute. And I am currently participating in the 2020 Queens Bienniale at York Collage and JCAL. In 2015, I received “The Award of Excellence” from Huntington Arts Council. In 2017, I was given an “Honorable Mention Award” by the Barrett Art Center at the Circle Foundation for the Arts as well as the prize for second place at the Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition. In 2018, I received “The Passion Project Award” and the “Artdex Award.” I am a member of the American Federation of the Arts and most Museums in New York.
