Jeanette is a mixed media artist who paints abstracts in a colorfully fun and expressive way. Says Jeanette, “I heard an audible voice at a very young age say to me, you are going to be an artist, and my heart lept.” I was around 7 years old. She held onto that experience and kept it as a secret treasure in her heart. She would set up a cardboard box on the sidewalk and sell drawings to passersby as a child.
Her love of art never strayed far from her and in her thirties, she decided to carve out time for what she calls her “Art-self,” She uses that term because she has learned to connect to herself through her art. Jeanette has won many local awards over the years and has taught classes in drawing, watercolor, abstract, collage and mixed medium. She currently shows her work at SORENSENS and VERNISSAGE Art Gallery in Fresno where she also teaches Abstract Art.
Jeanette has worked in the beauty industry for 40 years and looks back on those years with fondness. Embarking now on her second career and loving every minute of it. Jeanette lives in Clovis with her loyal and loving dog [everyone knows SUGAR, she’s kinda popular on FB,] and when she is not in her studio, you will find her at the beach, soaking up the refreshing, invigorating and soul-satisfying ambiance of our central coast. It is in these two places that she feels totally free.
