Jason Lewis grew up in a Midwestern family of engineers and builders and has been making things with wood since he was a kid. He learned the craft and practice of building fine furniture as an apprentice to a local woodworker and then went on to found his own studio, doing custom projects and producing an ongoing line of original furniture. His work draws from the traditional fine woodworking technique he was trained in and the simple midcentury design that first inspired him. He lives and works in Chicago.

Since 2001 Jason Lewis Furniture has been working directly with clients to provide heirloom quality modern furniture and do interesting woodworking of all kinds.
