"... creating functional and non functional sculpted ceramics that reflects landscape and surface texture memory."
Having grown up surrounded by the industrial landscapes of oil tank fields and woods, my inspirations for what I form out of clay are reflected in my art. I build functional and non functional one of a kind works .. expressing simplicity, transience and imperfection. These pieces are influenced by the starkness and beauty of growing up in a community outside the city. I strive to create surface tension from landscape memory and reference it in my work. Clay is a medium I express myself through. I am the product of making art in my local community studio, to creating, and firing in my own studio. My ceramics have been collected by Design Firms, Private collections, Chefs, Food podcasters, Food Stylists , Propstylists, Photographers in Canada and UK. I have exhibited in several art galleries, and been published in Lifestyle and Food magazines. Upcoming project: to be featured in a new cookbook with Random House publishers 2021 Always learning, always growing.
