I am a self-taught furniture maker and designer from a long line of craftsmen. My great grandfather was a gunsmith and furniture maker in Southern Ohio, my grandfather led the Industrial Design department at Kent State University, and my father was a cabinetmaker. I began building furniture in a small shop 13 years ago. My passion is to create unique furniture that lasts for generations, and embodies how we live and who we are. My early work and some of my current inspiration comes from the clean lines and elegant proportions of antique Danish furniture and the simple beauty of Japanese architecture. As of late, I am finding inspiration in some of my early drawings combined with a pattern I may have seen, or a historic building in coastal Maine.
