Fiona Dalrymple has always secretly been passionate about art. For years, she honed her technique through realistic renderings of the world around her in chalk pastel and pencil. She would find her flow while working on whatever project caught her fancy.
Despite this, Fiona never considered a life focused on creating as tenable. She gained a Bachelor of Science degree from Queen’s University; she avidly pursued organic land care and ecosystem restoration certification; she obtained a Bachelor of Education and became a science and math teacher. Only after the birth of her second child did she realize she was turning, time and time again, to the brush as a means of renewal, escape and happiness.
Now, Fiona chooses to paint images of her beloved west coast—of places she has visited or that inspire her to make that trip. She hopes that her paintings help viewers appreciate the beauty of the rugged shores of Canada and make small changes in their everyday to help protect our Earth for all generations.
