“Nationally exhibited artist, Eric David Laxman crafts one of a kind, collectable, functional art. His work is inspired by Greek, Egyptian, and Buddhist sculpture, as well as tribal art and contemporary design.
As head creative director of EDL studios, he may be designing a stainless steel and glass table, sculpting an outdoor bronze fountain, or fabricating a custom steel and bronze hand railing. Laxman’s high quality pieces showcase elegant lines, appealing shapes, and dynamic concepts. Eric’s process is informed by his studies in art, as well as science. His philosophy integrates functionality with aesthetics.

Laxman has completed numerous public sculpture commissions, his most recent is a monumental Lobby Sculpture and two entrance fountain sculptures for River Tides, a residential development in Yonkers, NY. Other recent commissions include a large Stainless Steel Sculpture for the front of Cryder House, A Private residential Apartment Building near the Whitestone Bridge; A public sculpture for City of Sculpture in Hamilton, Ohio; Greenwich Hospital in Connecticut and the Summit Medical Group in New Jersey. Laxman has also completed numerous sculpture memorials including: a memorial to Corporal Manny Lopez who was killed in action in Iraq, in Haverstraw and the JCC Munich 11 Memorial honoring the slain Olympic Athletes in West Nyack. At Rockland Community College’s new 9-11 Memorial Garden, Laxman artfully combined parts of salvaged steel I-beams from the World Trade center Site with other steel and marble elements in “Spirit Rising”. “
