"I use gel medium, thick bodied acrylics, and molding paste to create texture and layers in my work. I use a palette knife to capture a feeling of freedom and movement within my paintings as the process is less controlled."
Elida Field is a professional artist who specializes in mixed media and acrylic painting. She has been painting and drawing her whole life. She started drawing when she was 4 years old and, with the encouragement of her aunt and uncle, never stopped. In college, she studied art at Dallas Baptist University in Dallas, TX.Currently, Elida is working on her latest series called “Muses” where she is using her passion for painting, to honor the artistic muses and inspirations in her life. Frida Kahlo is one of her primary inspirations and she created a painting titled “Frida” in her honor.Elida’s vision has always been to inspire as many people as she can, either through her art or through teaching art to them. She gets an equal amount of enjoyment from creating art and from seeing her students flourish, grow and become vibrant artists themselves. To start a little spark wherever she goes, that is what she lives for!Elida prides herself in being able to teach “those who can only draw stick figures” and would love to facilitate any artistic adventure you are willing to take!
