Elan Pottery began in 2001 when I started selling my pots at a small New England Renaissance Faire. Elan, which means energy, flair, or enthusiasm, was a childhood nickname and perfectly describes the vision I have for my pottery and life!
After the success of that first show, I began traveling the U.S. living in a van full time with a mobile pottery studio. Over the years I expanded and set up permanent shops and studios at festivals around the country. I spent 10 memorable years living on the road, selling pots, meeting amazing people, and experiencing life beyond words! Fast forward a bit and I now live a bit more stationary life in Frederick, MD with my son, Ocean and fiancé, Steven. I continue to make our pots but two years ago Steven took over the glazing and together we make a great team! We sell our collaborative pieces at our festival shops around the country and now here online!
As artists, we take inspiration from our years of travel and daily life. Knowing someone is going to experience the first moments of their day with something we made gives us endless inspiration to create! We truly believe we are “living the dream” and are grateful! The positivity and love we put into each piece can be seen through our attention to detail in every aspect. We hope you fall in love with a piece and make it part of your family’s memories!
