Eduardo Pineda Storytelling Walls

San Francisco, CA

“I am a public artist committed to empowering people and nurturing unity since 1978. I work in murals, photography, public art, and art education. My artistic trajectory has taken me from the formative period of the Bay Area community mural movement in the 1980-90s into leading cultural institutions during the tremendous expansions of the 1990-2000s and back into the neighborhoods. At a time of tremendous urban change, I want to help express the evolving mixed heritage of our contemporary culture and help people see themselves engaged with multiple histories. Participatory process is central to my public art practice and I appreciate co-creation with stakeholders and community members because it can stretch and challenge my creative thinking. My artworks are in the FAMSF Achenbach Foundation for Graphic Arts and public art collections of SF Arts Commission, Alameda County Arts Commission, and Oakland Public Art Program.”
