"Dorka brings to KEEHN ON ART’s consultancy her experience as an award winning public artist and as a San Francisco Arts Commissioner. On the Arts Commission, she serves as chair of the Visual Arts Committee that commissions artwork pertaining to the Public Art Program, and reviews and approves all art in the Civic Art Collection and the Art Commission Gallery. She is also a member of the Civic Design Review Committee, which evaluates and has final purview over all construction, remodeling, or renovation of City-owned architecture, streets, and landscape design.
In January 2015, Dorka co-founded Sites Unseen, a project where she is co-curating and partnering with public and private sectors, community organizations and local cultural institutions to bring dynamic arts programming to underused alleys in San Francisco’s Yerba Buena neighborhood in the form of permanent and temporary artworks, performances, and screenings. The alleys provide a platform for local and national artists to showcase work within a unified curatorial framework. Sites Unseen is activating these neglected areas by fostering social interaction, community pride, and economic opportunities while increasing visitors’ safety and exposure to the arts."
