Derek Carter started as a graffiti artist in the late 1980s. Trained at UNSW College of Fine Arts receiving Honours for Painting and Drawing in 1999. Has worked in various media such as aerosol, acrylic on canvas, as well as using microcomputers to exhibit video and sound art. Published author and writer. Specialises in abstract portraits and deconstructed lettering. His work is accessible in Newtown and Redfern Sydney. Normally collaborates with ZapGalaxy in a loosely retrospective anarchist style full of reverie.
