Dennis Beach creates intensely colored plywood sculptures, including freestanding, wall-mounted, and kinetic works. Based in repetition, he uses geometric shapes to replicate and simplify the organic processes of growth and movement in nature. The works are sophisticated, clean, and polished; clearly influenced by Minimalism and Hardedge abstraction. The work is playful in color, illusion, light and shadow. Beach infuses these notions with a natural grace. The curves and repeating patterns reminiscent of those experienced, often temporarily, in wind swept snowdrifts or sandbars.
