Dejana Kabiljo currently lives in Vienna but her story starts in Split, Croatia, where she was born and raised. After graduating in architecture from the University of Belgrade and receiving a Master Degree in design from the Domus Academy in Milan, she took up a post as art director of the Vienna Museum of Technology back in '95.
Two years later, she started her own professional practice for design and architecture and was a lecturer at the University of applied Arts in Vienna. She has been a lecturer at the MAK Vienna and more recently she was a guest lecturer at Konsfack Stockholm.
In '98 Dejana received a Japan Foundation Fellowship for artists and spent an extended Summer in Tokyo. In '01 she launched her own design brand Kabiljo Inc. and had the chance to showcase her first collection in exhibitions at the MAK in Vienna.
She's exhibited her work all over the world, including at Paul Smith in Tokyo, Selfridges in London and most noteworthy at Zona Tortona in Milan '08 and '09.
