David Silverman

San Francisco, CA

"David Silverman was born in Detroit, MI, the youngest of nine children. His early interest in drawing was encouraged by his parents. His mother was a painter and a poet, his father a teacher. David first developed his richly detailed style while depicting abstracted space, and then later pursued object drawing and the human figure which now appear prominently in his work. David has worked extensively with “at risk” youth as an art educator teaching art and theater. His work has been shown in galleries in Los Angeles and San Francisco: ArtShare, LA; Circle Elephant Art, LA; Gallery 440, SF; Soma Arts, SF; The Stillwell Exhibition, SFSU; City College of San Francisco (juried); Martin Wong Gallery, SF (inaugural show). David took first place in the 2004 Precita Eyes Public Arts Mural Contest. His work is represented in several private and corporate art collections. He currently works as a fully credentialed art and multi-subject educator for K-5."
