Danielle Rose Byrd

Bar Harbor, ME

Working primarily in wood, Danielle blends traditional methods with ample experimentation and a wide range of tools to make gradients of sculptural and functional objects.

Her work explores common and abstract forms, frequently employing texture as a mechanism to shift perspectives of utility and conceptualization.

She grew up in the western foothills of Maine and made many creatures, structures, and inventions using found items, sand, sticks, trash, snow, and fabric. It took her until her 30’s to realize her constant infatuation with creation might actually mean she was an artist. She loves kitties and puppies, playing instruments she’s not entirely sure she knows how to play, and making anything out of everything.
Wescover creator since 2019
