"Through my artwork I express my deep connection for the natural world. When I spend time in the natural landscape walking, observing or contemplating, I experience an uplifting feeling of wellbeing and a sense of belonging. My paintings mark the space between nature and human perceptions, each painting depicts a moment in time, a unique experience of the natural landscape through a sensorial and emotional response. The process of painting is intuitive and spontaneous. I apply the paint with gestural marks to capture the energy of a place and its spirit. The paint may be applied thickly or in transparent washes as well as layered. This process of painting reflects a state of being, an experience of the Australian Landscape through a deeply felt relationship with nature."
