I am a furniture designer, recently moved back to India from Chicago. I graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a focus in furniture design and production.
My work is inspired by the diversity of digital and traditional practices of making. My depth in knowledge of fabrication processes allows me to experiment with sculptural forms, heightening the texture of the material, while designing modular, and functional pieces. By focusing on seemingly divergent themes, I frame a unique relationship between art and everyday furniture.
The appreciation for making and creating custom designs drives my practice. My education and professional internships have expanded my skills in woodworking. My proficiency with making allows me to further my skills by; pushing the boundaries of material manipulation and experimenting with sculptural forms incorporating modularity while focusing on precision.
I am currently working for 57st. design studio based Chicago as a Part-Time Media Coordinator.
