Q&A

How do your pieces come to life? Tell us one interesting thing about your creative process?

"Each time I sat out to create something, it takes me a a few hours to actually sit down and do what I intend to do. It's a ceremony of cleaning out my art studio, making myself a plate of healthy snacks, setting a glass of water next to me, and may be also throwing a load of laundry in the washing machine, doing dishes, and cleaning the house. I procrastinate and avoid just like anybody else, but I have come to know myself well enough to account for this when I am on a project timeline, so I allow it and give myself enough time to get in the mood."

Q&A

What do you want people to do or feel when they encounter your creations?

"My goal as an Artist is to create art that people are to be able to connect with. I aim to create something amazing and wonderful. I feel like I am more of a channel through which the creation happens, rather than a master of my craft, because when I am painting or drawing the flow of thoughts stops and I am simply in the moment."

Q&A

What funny moments, unexpected surprises, or obstacles have you encountered?

"I think the funniest and at the same time the proudest moment I have had as a Mural Artist, happened when I donated a mural to my daughter's preschool (South Preschool in Burien). Every time I came to pick up my daughter from preschool, she wanted to linger by the mural, touch it lovingly, and then announce to every kid and parent walking by, "My Mommy painted this!"
