“Aquarela Sabol is a Miami-based fine artist, muralist and overall visual creator.
She attended Columbia College Chicago for fine arts in the late 90’s, however she is primarily a self-taught artist. Her preferred medium is oils combined with non-traditional fine art mediums such as spray paint, textiles, reclaimed wood and found objects. Aquarela’s favorite subject matter generally focuses on portraiture and the feminine form with a nod to popular culture, combining design, context and setting to provoke deeper interpretations of each piece. She is also working on a new body of 3d and sculptural work that involves text and hand designed fonts in which she uses wood as a preferred medium: cutting, carving or forging words into the medium, to stimulate the viewer’s personal interpretation of language and it’s meaning as a form of visual communication.”
